**OGC Test Fire Procedures are listed below for those services that include a test fire**

Service Prices are as follows:

  • Hourly Rate for General Troubleshooting: $20

  • Shop rates do not include the price for parts. 

Basic Shop Rates

  • Detail Cleaning: $50, Includes Disassembly, Inspection, Cleaning of Bore, Bolt Carrier, Buffer, Buffer Tube, Lubricate, Reassemble & Function Test.

  • Full Inspection: $25

  • Scope Mounting: $20, Mount, Level, And Boresight Scope.

  • Full AR Assembly: $50, You supply the parts; includes test fire.

  • Stripped Upper Receiver Assembly: $15

  • Complete Upper Receiver Assembly: $40

  • Complete Lower Receiver Assembly: $40

  • Handguard Remove/Install: $25 

  • Barrel Remove/Install: $40

AR TEST FIRE PROCEDURES

 

FIREARM SAFETY

  • Always treat the gun as loaded.

  • Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.

  • Always keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

  • Always keep the gun unloaded until you are ready to use it.

PRE_FIRE FUNCTION TEST - NO LIVE ROUNDS!

  • Pre-Fire: Lubricate moving parts.

  • Charge the weapon (pull the charging handle to the rear and let go)

  • Place the weapon on "SAFE".

  • Squeeze the trigger; it should not fire.

  • Place the weapon on "FIRE".

  • Squeeze the trigger; it should fire.

  • Attempt to place the weapon on "SAFE"; the selector should not rotate.

  • Charge the weapon.

  • The weapon should still be on "FIRE".

  • Squeeze the trigger; it should fire; continue squeezing the trigger.

  • While continuing to squeeze the trigger, charge the weapon.

  • Release the trigger; there should be an audible "pop".

  • Pull the trigger; it should fire.

  • Attempt to place the weapon on "SAFE"; the selector should not rotate.

  • Charge the weapon.

  • Place the weapon on “SAFE”.

  • Function Check is complete.

  • If your weapon FAILS any of these steps, DO NOT FIRE IT!! Take it to a qualified AR Riflesmith for service.

  • After completing a GOOD function check, move to the next steps for LIVE TEST FIRE.

TEST FIRE - LIVE ROUNDS!

  • Ensure you have and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the Test Fire, ie.,  EyePro, Ear Pro, Gloves at minimum.

  • STEP 1:

  • Load 1 round into a magazine.

  • Lock the BCG to the rear

  • Load the 1-round magazine into the weapon.

  • Depress the magazine catch/release.

  • The BCG should have ridden forward, loading your weapon with a LIVE ROUND; YOUR WEAPON SHOULD STILL BE ON “SAFE”!

  • Pointing your muzzle in a safe direction (down range & in the dirt) & continuing to have your weapon on “SAFE”, squeeze the trigger. It should not fire.

  • Continuing to point your muzzle in a safe direction, you are now free to fire your weapon.

    • After firing, PLACE YOUR WEAPON BACK ON “SAFE”!

    • The weapon should have fired.

    • The BCG should have locked to the rear.

    • The empty case should have ejected to the 3-4:30 (clock) position.

    • STEP 1 PASS – go to STEP 2.

    • If your weapon FAILS any of these steps, DO NOT FIRE IT!! Take it to a qualified AR Riflesmith for service.

 

  • STEP 2:

  • Load 3 rounds into a magazine.

  • Lock the BCG to the rear

  • Load the 3-round magazine into the weapon.

  • Depress the magazine catch/release.

  • The BCG should have ridden forward, loading your weapon with a LIVE ROUND; YOUR WEAPON SHOULD STILL BE ON “SAFE”!

  • Pointing your muzzle in a safe direction (down rang & in the dirt) & continuing to have your weapon on “SAFE”, squeeze the trigger. It should not fire.

  • Continuing to point your muzzle in a safe direction, you are now free to fire you weapon.

    • PLACE YOUR WEAPON BACK ON “SAFE”!

    • The weapon should have cycled & fired 3 times. (cycle – fire, eject, feed)

    • After firing the third round, the BCG should have locked to the rear.

    • The empty cases should have ejected to the 3-4:30 (clock) position.

    • STEP 2 PASS – TEST FIRE COMPLETE

    • If your weapon FAILS any of these steps, DO NOT FIRE IT!! Take it to a qualified AR Riflesmith for service.

Your test fire is now complete! Don’t forget to pick up your brass. Keep your AR clean and lubricated and enjoy your new rifle!!
